Touch Football
Social touch football competitions are coming to the Gold Coast
The group chat has been saying "we should get a touch team going" for about three years now. This is where that finally happens.
We don't run touch football on the Gold Coast yet. This page is how that changes. Every name on the list gets us closer to locking in venues and a first season.

Touch Football on the Gold Coast: what to expect
Touch football is the great Australian social sport: six a side, no tackling, and a game built on running lines you half remember from school. It rewards fitness but forgives the lack of it, which is why mixed social touch comps work so well. Fast games, short halves, and the kind of team banter that keeps a group chat alive all week. Whether you played rep touch or just lunchtime footy, you'll find your feet inside a game.
How SportUP touch football comps will work
When touch football launches on the Gold Coast, it'll run like every SportUP comp: one night a week, short seasons, refs and gear sorted, tunes on, and a ladder that matters just enough. Book as a team or join solo and we'll find you one. We already run social comps across the Gold Coast. The first touch football venue will go wherever the waitlist is strongest, so rope in mates from your end of the coast.
And every comp is backed by our Pinky Promise. If you don't absolutely love your first game, we'll find you a better fit, cover your next game free, or give your money back.
Touch Football Gold Coast FAQs
When will touch football start on the Gold Coast?
As soon as the waitlist is big enough to fill a first season, usually 6 to 8 teams' worth of players. Every signup genuinely moves it forward, and waitlist members hear first, before we announce it anywhere else.
Do I need a team to play touch football on the Gold Coast?
No. Join the waitlist solo, and when we launch you can book as an individual and we'll place you in a team. Plenty of our current players started exactly that way.
Is it touch football or Oztag?
Classic touch football. Six a side, a touch with the hands instead of tags or tackles, six touches then turnover. If you've only played Oztag you'll adjust within a half.
Are the comps mixed or open?
We'll shape divisions around the waitlist. Mixed social touch is usually the most popular format, and if there's enough interest we'll run open divisions alongside it.
How much will touch football cost?
Pricing is locked in at launch, but SportUP comps usually work out around the cost of a takeaway meal per game, with refs, venue and gear included. The waitlist gets pricing and first pick of spots before anyone else.
Where in Gold Coast will touch football be played?
We already run social comps across the Gold Coast. The first touch football venue will go wherever the waitlist is strongest, so rope in mates from your end of the coast.
Can't wait that long?
Fair enough. We already run netball, basketball, soccer and volleyball comps every week on the Gold Coast. Solo or with a team, there's a spot if you want one.
